Disney announced during its Investor Day event on Thursday that it is bringing “roughly” 10 Star Wars series to Disney+.

The biggest of the productions is a Disney+ series called Obi-Wan Kenobi. Ewan McGregor will reprise his role as the titular character, while Hayden Christensen will return as Darth Vader. Obi-Wan Kenobi is set 10 years after the events of Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. The show was first announced at D23, but we didn't know about Christensen until now.

Obi-Wan Kenobi production is set to begin in March 2021.

Two other new Disney+ shows announced, called Star Wars: Rangers of the New Republic and Star Wars: Ahsoka, are spin-offs from The Mandalorian. They will all crossover to result in a “climactic story event".

Although details are thin, Rosario Dawson will likely return to reprise her role as Ahsoka Tano. Add it all up, and Disney clearly has a huge vision for Star Wars. Another thing that's clear is Disney+ is its primary focus at Investor Day.

Disney teased yet another new Disney+ show during its event. Called Star Wars: Andor, it stars Diego Luna as Cassian Andor from Rogue One and will launch in 2022. Although production began two weeks ago, a brief trailer was shown.

Another new Disney+ series, set around Lando Calrissian, is also coming from Justin Simien. He created the show Dear White People. It's unclear yet who will be playing the titular character, as it's in the early stages of development. Disney said it's green-lit an animated show, too, called The Bad Batch. It's "coming soon" and will follow a group of rogue Storm Troopers.

Two other Disney+ shows - Acolyte and A Droid Story - were mentioned but not detailed, so little is known at this point. Disney only said the latter show will star R2D2 and C3PO, the fan-favourite characters from the original trilogies.

Disney revealed the next Star Wars feature film is in the works, too. It'll be directed by Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins. It's centered around the story of Rogue Squadron, a famous squad of X-Wing fighter pilots made famous in the old Star Wars canon. It'll be released around Christmas 2023. The best part is it's not the only Star Wars film coming.

One of the hottest directors on the planet right now, Taiki Waititi, is hard at work on a new Star Wars film set in the uncharted future of the Star Wars Universe. Disney revealed it will premiere after Star Wars: Rogue Squadron.
