Samsung looks to be hard at work on its new tablet which could be the world's thinnest.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 leaked last month in photos showing it with the metal frame of the Galaxy S6. Now specs for the tablet have appeared online including dimensions which would make it the world's thinnest slate.

According to China's Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0, as it's named, will be 198 x 134 x 5.4mm and weigh just 260g. That makes it thinner than Dell's Venue 8 7000 which is just 6mm thick.

Other specs for the 8-inch tablet include screen resolution which is reported to come in at 1,536 x 1,048. There should also be a larger 9.7-inch version of the tablet although the screen resolution hasn't been leaked for that, yet.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is expected to feature a 1.9GHz octa-core processor backed by 3GB of RAM, LTE connectivity, and the Android 5 Lollipop operating system.

There should be an 8-megapixel camera in the rear with a 2-megapixel front-facing selfie camera. Onboard should be 16GB of storage which will be expandable thanks to microSD.

As the rumours begin to increase it's likely we can expect an unveil of this tablet soon.
