Asus was one of the first to create hybrid tablets with keyboards and it's still pushing the definitions of hybrid devices. The latest Transformer V is an Android phone, Windows tablet, Android tablet, Windows laptop and Android laptop – all in one device.

The 12.5-inch HD IPS displaying tablet has a Windows 8.1 brain running on an Intel processor and 4GB of RAM plus 128GB of SSD storage. Slide the Android phone into a slot at the back and it becomes an Android device at a tap of the screen. This 5-inch Android 4.4 phone is powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom Moorefield processor with LTE. The Android phone interface can be viewed within Windows 8.1 or as the main OS.

In both Windows and Android modes the tablet can be docked with the keyboard to give it a full laptop experience. This keyboard can also house a 7mm-thick hard drive of up to 1TB but won't have its own battery.

The phone is a 140g, 11mm thick device with 2GB of RAM, 64GB storage, 8-megapixel and 2-megapixel cameras and a 2,500mAh battery.

The Asus Transformer Book V has only just been unveiled at Computex. Stay tuned for our first impressions, release date and pricing soon.
