Ahead of CES Acer has let loose the specs on its latest generation of A1 and B1 Android tablets, the Iconia A1-830 and the Iconia B1-720/1.

The Iconia A1-830 has a 7.9-inch IPS display running a 1600 x 1200 resolution for 253ppi. The tablet itself is 8.15mm in thickness and weighs 380grams. Powering the device is an Intel Atom Clover Trail CPU clocked at 1.6GHz and backed by 1GB of RAM which, Acer says, will get you 7.5 hours of use on a charge. You get 16GB on board plus up to 32GB of microSD storage and it's all run using Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. It also features 1080p rear and 720p front cameras.

The Iconia A1-830 works with the Acer Crunch Keyboard that's 5.3mm thin and connects via Bluetooth 3.0, or the Acer Crunch Cover which doubles as a multi-angle stand.

The Acer Iconia A1-830 will be available before March for €169 (£140).

The Acer Iconia B1-720 (Wi-Fi) and B1-721 (3G) both have a 7-inch screen for which Acer, worryingly, hasn't disclosed a resolution. Other specs are middle-of-the-road at best with a 1.3GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB storage and microSD expansion for another 32GB, and a front-facing camera, again with no resolution mentioned.

The Acer Iconia B1-720 (Wi-Fi) will cost €129 (£107) and be available mid-January. The Acer Iconia B1-721 (3G) will cost €179 and be on sale by the end of Janurary.
