Argos has announced its first branded tablet, called MyTablet, which will hit shelves on 16 October for £99.99 with 19 pre-loaded apps.

MyTablet features a 7-inch LCD glass screen, 1024x600-pixel resolution, Android Jellybean 4.2.2 operating system, dual Core 1.6 Ghz processor, 2-megapixel rear shooter and support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Other features include a 5-hour battery life, micro SD (up to 32GB), 0.3-megapixel front shooter and HDMi and Micro USB out.

The tablet will be available in pink or silver premium metal, and it comes with pre-loaded apps like BBC iPlayer, Angry Birds, Facebook, Twitter and an eBook reader app. It even has a customisable home screen. 

Argos is a catalogue merchant based in the UK and Republic of Ireland. With 737 stores, it is the largest general-goods retailer in the UK. MyTablet, the retailer's first tablet, will be available for purchase exclusively from the Argos website, App or in one of the 737 stores.
