Samsung has announced a Windows-powered all-in-one, the Ativ One7 at CES in Las Vegas and Pocket-lint visited the stand to find out more.

The new Samsung Ativ One7 all-in-one desktop boasts a 24-inch full HD touchscreen display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, Intel Core i3 or Core i5 processor, 8GB of memory, 1TB HDD or 128GB SSD with a 1TB HDD, a 720p camera, and Windows 8.1. There is an HDMI-in/HDMI-out port and two USB 3.0 ports.

Cased in white plastic the desktop all-in-one looks very plastically and very cheap and we suspect will also look dated rather quickly when you get it into your home. If it's not the gloss plastic coating that we don't approve of, it's the fact that even the glowing icons at the bottom right of the screen blur outside of their lines. Nasty.

What doesn't help either is that while the screen itself looks amazing when looking at high-res images, the Windows home screen looked blocky and pixelated with the fonts looking overly smooth rather than crisp. We don't or can't understand why this would be the case and neither could Samsung when we questioned them on the stand about it.

The all-in-one has a Bluetooth Music Play feature that lets users enjoy streaming music through its two 7-watt speakers by simply connecting devices via Bluetooth even when the PC is powered off which is a nice feature, especially if you've got this computer hidden in another room but still within the 10m Bluetooth range.

It can also act as a cloud port with Samsung Galaxy smartphones, allowing users to access and save photos, movies, music and documents at any time, anywhere through Samsung Link.

The Ativ One7 will be released in February 2014 in a non-touch model and in April 2014 as a touch model.
