Lenovo ThinkPad Carbon X1 Touch pictures and hands-on
Lenovo has updated its X1 Carbon by adding the power of touch to its latest Windows 8 Ultrabook.
The logically named X1 Carbon Touch adds the hands-on functionality to the screen, but this does bloat the asking price and means the screen is a slither thicker and heavier than that of the original.
It's hardly a case of "who ate all the pies" though, as the X1 Carbon Touch is still thin and, at 1.5kgs, lightweight enough to carry around on the go without it breaking your back. That 100g weight increase does mean it's around 7 per cent heavier than the origina X1 Carbon, which we reviewed and, in general, raved about recently.

The X1 Touch's 14-inch touchscreen is responsive to the slightest of hand, which in conjunction with full Windows 8 makes for a seamless user experience. However, like any touchscreen, the X1 Carbon Touch's screen does suffer from fingerprint marks.
The Windows 8 revolution is here, and the X1 Carbon Touch is the perfect fit. But at $1,500 in its basic configuration, this sturdy-shelled Ultrabook is a serious investment not to be taken, ahem, lightly.
We liked the original a lot, and this Touch version succeeds in bringing that up to date and into the Windows 8 space. Good job.
