Before we get to work on a full review of the new MacBook Pro with Retina display, we thought it was only fair to share some photos of the new Apple laptop for you to feast your eyes on. A quick play, if you will, before we get down to the nitty-gritty.

First observations are that the next generation of MacBook Pro is thin, crisp and tasty with photo and video kids likely to benefit the most.

Text on screen - at least when in Apple products or apps that have already updated to a high-res approach - is luscious. Software that hasn't updated, like Google Chrome for example, looks awfully low-resolution by comparison.

At first glance you might not notice, but then as you start to use the laptop you realise that Apple has made everything else look rubbish from here on in, just like it did with the new iPad compared to the iPad 2.

It's the Retina display screen that is the dominating factor of course, but there is plenty else to shout about too. There's the quiet running, the faster processor, better graphics card, more memory and other facets that you should start getting excited about.

We are looking forward to seeing how all that performs in the longer stress tests we have planned.

In the meantime enjoy the bevy of images we've snapped, and if you've got any questions feel free to add them to the comments and we'll make sure we try to answer them all in our review planned for later in the week.
