Toshiba has announced its second HD DVD ready laptop, the Toshiba G35-AV650.

The new model features a TruBrite 17 inch widescreen display at 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution display and 1080p high-definition format, an Intel Core Duo processor, two 100GB SATA hard drives and 1GB DDR2 RAM.

The home entertainment system also offers harmon/kardon speakers and a bundled TV tuner card to catch live TV or cable/satellite feeds which can be watched without booting up windows via Toshiba's QosmioPlayer.

Other features include a 256MB Nvidia GeForce Go 7200 graphics card, Windows XP Media Center Edition, an HDMI input, a fingerprint reader and a 5-in-1 card reader on the laptop.

The laptop will cost $2,999.95 in America. No word as yet on a UK price.

In March, Toshiba launched its first notebook equipped with the new HD-DVD media standard in the UK. It went on sale in the UK last month for £2,300.
