Samsung has confirmed the details of its new UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC) today at CeBIT in Germany.
Based on a new form factor developed by Samsung Electronics, Intel and Microsoft, the Q1 promises to be a PDA, MP3/PMP, GPS system, tablet PC and storage device in one sleek and stylish mobile device.
The confirmed details are that it will weigh 779g and be 227.5 x 139.5 x 24.5 - 26.5mm in size.
Samsung's Q1 features a 7-inch wide 800 x 480 resolution LCD touch screen, starting from 40GB of portable memory and supports all multimedia formats.
Utilising the full functionality of a conventional notebook PC for those who demand computing performance with Intel Celeron M or Pentium M processors and Microsoft Windows XP tablet operating system.
Samsung has also included the ability to allow users to view movies, photos and music at the touch of a button, without starting windows.
Its three button pad combined with an eight way stick is ideal for PC gaming, while the SRS True sound provides a real alternative to traditional MP3 players.
Samsung's Q1 feature 10/100 Ethernet, 802.11bg wireless and Bluetooth 2.0 (EDR) as standard while the twin array microphone allows you to make calls over the Internet using VoIP.
The company is promising a 3.5 hour battery life.
