Logitech has announced an update to its diNovo keyboard set as well as offering two new keyboard and mouse sets aimed at the media user. All three models are available now and range from £99 - £159.

The first announcement is the Logitech diNovo Media Desktop Laser, the next generation of the company's flagship mouse-and-keyboard combination.

The new Logitech diNovo Media Desktop Laser adds a new metallic-silver finish with deep blue accents colour design and Bluetooth 2.0 for faster connectivity with mobile phones, cameras or VoIP headsets.

Also added into the mix is Logitech's MX1000 Cordless Laser Mouse that was originally launched last year.

As before the keyboard set includes a separate MediaPad that includes the traditional number pad alongside a remote control to control your media content on your PC.

The diNovo MediaPad includes an interactive display that shows music track information. It offers control of the most popular media players, including Musicmatch, iTunes, Windows Media Player 10 and Winamp 5.

The interactive display on the MediaPad also shows incoming instant messages and e-mails, as well as the status of instant messenger buddies.

Bluetooth 2.0 EDR provides up to three times higher data rates than previous versions of Bluetooth technology; other wireless devices with Bluetooth 2.0 EDR will be able to transmit more data more quickly while connected to the PC through the Logitech diNovo Media Desktop Laser. The Logitech diNovo Media Desktop Laser is also backward compatible with other mobile devices that use older implementations of Bluetooth.

The Logitech diNovo Media Desktop Laser will be available in October in the U.S and Europe. The desktop has a suggested retail price of £159.99 in Europe.

Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 3000 Laser

The Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 3000 Laser is Logitech's replacement for its MX 1000 set and will combine a laser mouse with Logitech's low-profile, Zero Degree Tilt keyboard.

Logitech is promising improved battery life for the new set and the mouse can achieve a battery life of up to six months, while the keyboard can last up to 18 months on a pair of AA batteries. Both the mouse and the keyboard have built-in battery indicator lights, providing approximately 10 days notice when power is getting low. The mouse also features an on/off switch to help extend battery life even further.

The system also includes Logitech's new SecureConnect technology, the cordless keyboard, mouse, and receiver are all pre-synchronized and pre-connected during manufacturing; encryption is also completely pre-configured. All three components are ready to go right out of the box, with a secure link and without the hassle of a manual connection process. Even following a battery change, there is no reconnection process.

The set will have a suggested retail price of £79.99 in Europe.

Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5000 Laser

The Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5000 Laser features a built-in LCD on the keyboard that is designed to help people manage information away from the main computer monitor. Like the diNovo set, the LCD screen can display e-mail and instant message notifications, favorite playlists and Internet radio stations.

Also like the diNovo, the product also can turn a PC into a Bluetooth wireless hub, as it features the new Bluetooth 2.0 Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) wireless technology.

The Logitech Cordless Desktop MX 5000 Laser will be available in October in the U.S. and Europe. The desktop has a suggested retail price of £119.99 in Europe.
