Logitech has announced an addition to its hardcore PC gaming accessory line-up and it has been designed specifically for first-person shooter fans.

The Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury gaming mouse looks externally much like the customisable G502 released recently, but it was designed with a specific talent in mind, speed. Logitech claims that it's the fastest gaming mouse in the world.

It utilises the company's proprietary Fusion Engine technology to track over 12 metres per second. Logitech's Delta Zero sensor tech is also in operation for accuracy.

The mouse has its own 32-bit on-board ARM processor to ensure that the Fusion Engine works its swift magic. And there are four DPI settings available, so you can choose just how sensitive you want the tracking. It is capable of shifting between 240 DPI to 4000 DPI.

There are eight programmable buttons on the mouse, which can be configured for any gaming action. And the G402 saves all settings to internal memory. It has a 1ms report rate, to ensure button presses are instant.

The Logitech G402 Hyperion Fury mouse will be available in the US and UK from August, priced at £49.99.
