Logitech has announced the Logitech Wireless Desktop MK710 that claims an industry first 3-year battery life for the keyboard, the mouse and the Logitech Unifying receiver.

"No one thinks about changing batteries until they have to, but when that time comes, it can stop you in your tracks", says Rory Dooley, Logitech’s senior vice president and general manager of the control devices business unit.

With that track-stopping moment 3-years away, the 2.4GHz wireless set-up offers 128-bit AES encryption and a right-hander laser mouse boasting hyper-fast scrolling and three customisable thumb buttons.

The low-profile keyboard gets Logitech Incurve keys and a cushioned palm rest for all kinds of comfort claims, while the LCD dashboard offers "at-a-glance status" for Caps Lock, Scroll Lock, Num Lock and battery life.

The Logitech Wireless Desktop MK710 is due in Europe at the beginning of February 2010 and in the US beginning April 2010, for a price of $99.99 in the States and £89.99 in the UK.
