HP has announced a new tablet PC with a focus on entertainment rather than business use.

The new model, called the HP Pavilion tx1000 Entertainment Notebook PC features a touch-screen display, built-in miniature remote control, HP QuickPlay instant movie viewing feature, a karaoke option and a screen that swivels 180 degrees and folds flat for working or enjoying movies in tight travel spaces such as airplanes or trains.

The new laptop will also come with Sling Media's Slingbox functionality already included within HP's QUickPlay offering, meaning you won't have to power up Windows to use the LocationFree TV service.

Tech specs include a 12.1-inch WXGA high-definition HP BrightView widescreen touchscreen, AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-56, NVIDIA GeForce Go 6150 (UMA) with up to 128MB (shared), 2048MB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm), 160GB (5400RPM) hard drive (SATA), 802.11b/g WLAN, and a Super Multi 8X DVD±R/RW with Double Layer Support.
