Chromebook 11 owners beware, your charger may catch alight and go up in flames. That’s what Google and HP have found and are now recalling the faulty chargers as a result.

The official statement from Google says: “The computer's charger can overheat and melt, posing fire and burn hazards. Remedy: replace.”

About 145,000 units are affected. If you have a charger with the model number MU15-N1052-A00S, which is stamped on the face of the charger that has outlet pins, don’t use it again.

Google has received nine reports of chargers overheating and melting during use. One person has had a small burn and a pillow has been damaged. So nothing too bad has happened yet but it’s best not to take a risk.

This problem is for US adapters only and if you have a suspicion it involves you head over to CPSC to see pictures of the charger in question.
