Dell's luxury "Adamo" has finally been unleashed, and as well as video and images, we can at last reveal the specs the laptop gets.

With a "world's thinnest laptop" claim, Dell is making much of the Adamo's looks.

The W x D x H dimensions are 13.03 x 9.5 x 0.65 inches while the chassis is milled from a single piece of aluminium, with a "scalloped" backlit keyboard.

There's an edge-to-edge, high-def glass display and the machine will be available in "Onyx" and "Pearl".

With prices starting at £1649 ($1999 in the US) Dell has found ways to tempt folk to spend more with a range of accessories, including an exclusive line of bags from TUMI.

Extras from Dell will include external storage options with 250GB or 500GB external hard drives, an external DVD+/-RW or Blu-ray disc drive, a matching 8GB USB drive and "connectors and cables".

So, to the actual Adamo spec, and the "luxury" laptop offers a 13.4-inch, 16:9 HD display, Windows Vista, Intel Core 2 Duo processor, SSD drives, Wireless N, Bluetooth 2.1, two USB ports, and the claim of around 5 hours battery life.

Available for pre-order this week with shipping starting 26 March, Adamo will be available online for purchase in 24 countries, including the UK and Ireland.

Further to the official announcement, Dell support documents have hinted at a 9-inch model, so if you like the look of the Adamo, but want a netbook, then you might want to hang on.
