Dell has extended its Inspiron consumer brand from just laptops to include desktops PCs, a move that sees the phasing out of Dell's Dimension brand.

The new Inspiron range includes a line-up of colourful notebooks and desktops.

The new products introduced include the Inspiron 530 and 531 desktops, Inspiron 1720 and 1721 17-inch notebooks, Inspiron 1520 and 1521 15.4-inch notebooks and a 19-inch widescreen flat panel display.

Dell has gone all lifestyle and is offering the new notebooks in a "rich palette" of eight colour choices, including Ruby Red, Midnight Blue and Jet Black.

Also new is Dell's new flagship ultraportable notebook and the world's thinnest at 0.9-inches, the 13.3-inch XPS M1330. Keeping with the colourful theme, the XPS M1330 can be personalised with a choice of three colours: Tuxedo Black, Pearl White or Crimson Red.

"We’ve packed these new Inspiron and XPS systems with features such as mobile broadband, widescreen displays and colour choices to help customers experience the high definition lifestyle they seek", says Hervé Mattan, marketing director, home and small business, Dell EMEA.

"Customers also tell us they want great design and performance and we have responded with the new XPS M1330, the world’s thinnest 13-inch notebook."
