Asus has unveiled its new Transformer Book Flip laptop at the 2014 Computex trade show in Taipei.

The Transformer Book Flip comes with an Intel Core up to i7 processor and has a fixed hinge keyboard. So it's a laptop first but also uses a touchscreen so, with the keyboard folded all the way round, it can be used like a tablet with Windows 8.1 OS.

The TP550 comes with an Intel i5 or i7 and 8GB of RAM. That includes Intel HD 4400 graphics, a 750GB hard drive and a 15.6-inch Full HD LED backlit display. There's a DVD S-Multi 8x drive in the 2.6kg, 27.2mm thick laptop as well as Bluetooth 4.0 but no 802.11ac Wi-Fi, just the usual bands.

The TP300 is a 13.3-inch Full HD screen toting laptop with Intel Core i3 or i5 and 4GB or 6GB of RAM and a 500GB drive. This has no disc drive but weighs 1.75kg and is 22mm thick.

The Asus Transformer TP550 starts from £599 and the TP300 begins at £449. Both will be available from the end of June.
