Further to the news we've brought you about a possible Apple netbook due later this year, a recent report translated from a Chinese news source has reinvigorated the Apple rumour across the web.

Originating from a post on the Mac Rumours forum, the article cites "Taiwan's high-tech supply chain companies" as talking up a netbook in time for Christmas.

Three companies are named as suppliers in the report with orders for the touchscreen device said to now be "finalized".

Unlike most netbooks on the market, Apple's offering is said to boast a 9.7-inch screen which will be "installed", presumably hinting at a tablet design.

Not said to be a low-end effort, the netbook would however hit the market as Apple's lowest price Mac with a $800 price point.

We will keep you posted.
