We reported on the rumours yesterday, and today Apple has delivered its updated MacBooks with Intel Core 2 Duo processors, just two weeks after the upgrade of its MacBook Pro range.

The new MacBooks also feature an iSight video camera, and start at £749. Three models are included: white 1.8GHz and 2.0GHz models, and a black 2.0GHz model. Apple says that the new processors make the MacBook 25% faster than the previous models, although that remains to be seen by reviewers.

MacBooks measure just 1-inch thin and feature a 13.1-inch glossy screen. Other specifications include built-in AirPort Extreme and Bluetooth 2.0, as well as Ethernet, USB2.0, FireWire 400, and analogue and optical digital audio input and outputs. Standard on the 1.83GHz model is 512MB of RAM and a 60GB hard drive, while the 2.0GHz while model gets 1GB of RAM and an 80GB hard drive. The black version gets 120GB hard drive as standard. The latter two start at £880 and £1000 respectively.
