Apple has updated its MacBook Pro range before the company has even started shipping them to customers.
The computer company has announced that its top of the range 15in MacBook Pro model will now come with an Intel Core Duo Processors Up to 2.16 GHz. Customers who have ordered 1.83Ghz version will automatically be upgraded to a 2Ghz processor and those who opted for the 1.67Ghz chip will be upgraded to 2,0Ghz.
Additionally customers can also now opt to have their laptop upgraded to 2.16Ghz.
All of the chips have been upgraded, although in a turn of the unusual, Apple won't be passing on the increased cost.
"We are incredibly excited to start shipping the MacBook Pro.” said Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing.
The new 15-inch MacBook Pro notebook computer features the new Intel Core Duo processor which delivers up to four times the
performance of the PowerBook G4. It also includes a built-in iSight video camera for video conferencing on-the-go and the Front Row with Apple Remote.
The £1,779 (inc. VAT) model now includes a 2.0 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, up from the previously announced 1.83 GHz, and will begin shipping this week. The £1,429 (inc. VAT) model now includes a 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo processor, up from the previously announced 1.67 GHz, and will begin shipping next week.
