(Pocket-lint) - Apple's 'Unleashed' event has now come and gone with plenty of product announcements, including updates to the MacBook Pro range and all-new AirPods.

Below, we'll briefly dive into all the announcements.

You can watch the event from the Apple website or via the YouTube video at the top of this page.

Apple's M1 Pro and M1 Max MacBook Pro laptops were the headline acts of the Unleashed event.

The new lineup includes 14-inch and 16-inch models - both powered by the new processors made by Apple.

Both feature a Mini LED display with smaller bezels and a new notch, support for MagSafe charging, an HDMI port, an SD card slot, and no Touch Bar. That's right, the traditional row of function keys is back.

Nearly two years on from the second-gen model's arrival, Apple used its Unleashed event to launch the third-gen AirPods.

They look more akin to the AirPods Pro, featuring shorter stems than their predecessor, with force sensors now also offering more control over phone calls and music. Apple's Spatial Audio is present, too, and is joined by Adaptive EQ.

Battery life has jumped up from the last generation, as well, with the sweat- and water-resistant design also providing users with some long-overdue peace of mind.

Apple also announced an official release date for its next major update to the Mac operating system, Monterey.

Previewed earlier this year, macOS Monterey is currently in beta testing and is expected to be released to the public on 25 October.

There were no hardware announcements for Apple's lone smart speaker, but we did get three new finishes.

You can read all about the new HomePod mini colours and when they'll land, with the price tag set to remain at $99 / £99, as with the white and space grey variations.
