Apple has announced a Retina Display version of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, after confirming that it is the company's best-selling laptop.
The new device will be 19.05mm thick - 20 per cent thinner - and 450g lighter than the current model.
The new laptop will have a 13.3-inch display, ditch the optical disc drive and come with the usual array of slots down the two sides of the laptop - including two Thunderbolt ports, two USB 3.0 and an SD card reader.
The new model will come with an IPS Retina Display that has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, giving you 227ppi.
There will be up to 768GB of storage on offer, Core i5 or i7 processors and a seven-hour battery life.
Other specs include dual microphones, stereo speakers on the left and right of the device, and a FaceTime HD camera.
The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display is available with a 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3. GHz, 8GB of memory and 128GB of flash storage starting at £1,449; and with 256GB of flash storage starting at £1,699. Other options include faster 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 processors and flash storage up to 768GB.
