Can’t decide between an iPad and the Microsoft Surface? The Modbook Pro could prove to be just the solution after Axiotron unveiled its 13.3-inch tablet computer that can run on both Mac OS X Mountain Lion and Windows 7 simultaneously.

Cast your mind back to 2009 and you might remember the original Modbook. It was certainly innovative, if a little pricey, but then came the iPad - and, well, the rest is history. The Modbook Pro builds on what its predecessor started but with a major overhaul to its armoury.

Consumers can choose between a 2.5GHz dual core Intel i5 processor or a more powerful 2.9GHz i7 Intel Core processor. The display itself is 13.3-inches, while Axiotron has ensured it is durable and scratch resistant with a ForceGlass screen.

The Modbook Pro’s default OS is OS X Mountain Lion, so if you did want a dual-operating system you would need to purchase Windows 7 separately, but the option is there. Fitted into the tablet computer is a stylus, which Axiotron says provides up to 512 levels of pressure.

Other specs worth noting include Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, an Intel HD Graphics 4000 chipset, Wi-Fi, up to 16GB of RAM, USB 3.0 port and a 2.5-inch SATA drive.

Expected to begin shipping in Q3 of this year, there’s no word on pricing yet, but to give you an idea the original Modbook cost a cool $2,249 so if you fancy a dual OS tablet then we suggest you get saving.
