Acer has announced the TravelMate 6593 aimed at corporate users looking for a "robust, secure and powerful notebook".

The TravelMate 6593 is equipped with Intel Centrino 2 with vPro technology, featuring Mobile Intel PM45 or GM45 Express Chipset, supporting Intel Active Management Technology 4.0.

Depending on the model, graphics come in via an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 graphic card or by integrated 3D graphics with Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500MHD.

The TravelMate 6593 comes with either a 15.4-inch WXGA high-brightness TFT LCD panel with white LED backlight and 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, or a 15.4-inch WSXGA+ high-brightness TFT LCD with a 1680 x 1050 resolution.

The 6593 gets up to 4GB of DDR3 memory, up to 320GB hard disk, a multi-in-one card reader and a DVD-Super Multi optical drive, plus the Acer MediaBay hot-swappable solution that offers a choice of an extra hard disk, a second battery or an optical drive with either a DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive or DVD/CD-RW combo.

Connectivity for the Vitsa-based machine comes in via Wi-Fi/WiMAX capabilities, Gigabit Ethernet LAN and modem, and in select models, full WWAN connectivity through quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE capability at 850/900/1800/1900MHz and UMTS/HSDPA capability at 2100MHz.

There's also the Acer Crystal Eye webcam, an optional VoIP Bluetooth phone, Bio-Protection digital imprint reading solution and Acer FingerLaunch.

The Acer TravelMate 6493 is much the same, but gets Intel 64 architecture and Intel Virtualization Technology along with the Mobile Intel GM45 Express Chipset supporting Intel Active Management Technology 4.0 and integrated 3D graphics, featuring Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500MHD, supporting Microsoft DirectX 10.

This model offer a 14.1-inch WXGA high-brightness TFT LCD panel with white LED backlight, giving 1280 x 800 pixel resolution.

Moving down the product range even further, the Acer TravelMate 6293 matches the spec of the 6493, but offers a more portable 12.1-inch WXGA screen.
