Packard Bell's "imedia" desktops have been "refreshed" with a new design and features, aimed at those looking for a "fully featured and cost effective PC".
The range is offered in various configurations and specs, including an Intel Core 2 Quad processor or an AMD Phenom II X4 quad-core processor and up to 8GB of DDR3 memory.
Available with up to 1TB hard disc drive with optional Blu-Ray combo drive, other specs include six USB 2.0 connectors, an e-sata connector, optional Firewire connector, HDMI output and a multi-card reader.
Multimedia performance is helped along by Nvidia GeForce graphics or Intel integrated graphics, supporting Microsoft DirectX 10 and high definition 7.1 surround sound with a SPDIF connector.
Further options include a DVB-T TV tuner with remote control and Wi-Fi.
Said to be 60% smaller than a standard desktop, looks-wise the imedia models offer a "sleek glossy black chassis with matt accents and soft curves highlighted by a glowing blue power on/off button".
Complete with a multimedia keyboard, and running Windows Vista Home Premium, the starting price for the imedia range is set at £299.
