ViewSonic has announced it is moving into the PC market with the launch of the first model in its new computing line, the VPC100 all-in-one PC.

The company says this model is the first in a family of products, that will also include nettops, however this model - with an Intel Atom processor - would be considered a nettop by most.

One of the thinnest such PCs available at 35mm, the VPC100 has a 16:9 19-inch LCD display, is powered by an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor and has 1GB memory, a 160GB hard drive, Ethernet, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, DVD drive, integrated stereo speakers, 4-in-1 card reader and comes with Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition.

The VPC100 has a suggested retail price of £499 and will be available mid May.
