Packard Bell has launched the 12-inch EasyNote BG48, the first of three new limited edition models of the notebook.

Following the apparent success of similar limited editions in time for Christmas last year, the three new notebooks are the 12-inch EasyNote BG48, the 13-inch EasyNote RS66 and the 17-inch EasyNote ST86.

With a "sensual" design, the EasyNote BG48 is described as a "sweet choice" for "tech chic" buyers.

Weighing 1.6kg, it gets a glossy white and aluminium colour scheme with a chocolate edge trim, luminous touch buttons and a light-ring around the touch pad.

Standard features of the new notebook are a 12.1-inch Diamond View display, Intel integrated graphics, the latest Intel Centrino 2 processor technology, a 4-in-1 card reader, built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet and a 1.3-megapixel webcam.

Software bundled with the little laptop includes Norton Internet Security, Carbonite to backup online, Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 full version, Nero 8 Essentials, Microsoft Works 9 and either Disney/Pixar's Wall.E or EA's Need for Speed Prostreet.

The Packard Bell EasyNote BG48 notebook is available in PC World starting at £299, no word on price or dates for the larger models.
