Graphics tablet specialists Wacom have introduced a wide-format A5-sized tablet to its Intuos3 range, replacing the original A5 tablet.

The Intuos3 A6 Wide features an active area of 4 x 6 inches, in a wide aspect ratio of 16:10 to more closely match wide-screen monitors; the tablet is bundled with Corel Painter Essentials3.

Like all of the tablets in the Intuos3 Wide range, the A6 model features an ExpressKeys four-button keypad that can be programmed with frequently-used modifier keys, as well as a Touch Strip scroll bar for zooming and navigating.

With a resolution of 5080dpi and 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity in both the pen tip and eraser, the tablets are designed for precise graphic work; the tablets even recognise a tilting angle of 60 degrees by the pen.

Other members in the Intuos3 Wide family include the A5 Wide and the A3 Wide, which all feature the same 16:10 aspect ratio.

The new A6 Wide costs around £160, while the A5 Wide costs £255.31, and the A3 Wide costs £480 for the CAD configuration with Lens Cursor and £510 for the DTP configuration with Grip Pen.
