BenQ will be amongst the first to release a Blu-ray recorder if its new device comes out on schedule in August.
The BW1000, also called the Trio, is able to write to Blu-ray, DVD, and CD formats, and incorporates various technologies, including Precision Tilt Control System, SolidBurn, and Write Right, to record on to the discs.
The Precision Tilt Control System is an extra level of protection against vibration, noisy signals, and disc irregularities, while SolidBurn optimises the writing settings for each disc.
On the outside of the device are three LED indicators to show which type of disc is being burned.
The retail price for the Trio will be around £550, which is about the same as Philips' Blu-ray writer, which will be released around the same time.
