Rock, the UK laptop manufacturer and Atari have joined forces to produce 100 limited edition notebooks featuring Dungeons and Dragons Online: Stormreach game artwork.

A scene depicting four game characters doing battle with the iconic red dragon is individually applied to each notebook’s rear lid.

A limited edition of 100 Pegasus 650 notebooks featuring either ATI X700 or NVIDIA 6600 graphics acceleration are available to buy from rock from £999.

Once these 100 have been sold, no further lids will be manufactured and the original artwork and plates will be deleted.

The notebooks include a free copy of the Dungeons and Dragons Online Stormreach game.

A three year warranty is standard across the rock range and the models are fully configurable online.

Those not keen on splashing out £999 will be pleased to hear that Atari will be giving away three Pegasus 650 notebooks in competitions.

Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach is the world's first massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) based on the legendary pen and paper Dungeons & Dragons game.

The notebooks are first painted black then artwork from the game is applied using a patented process to give a near-photographic finish. A hard lacquer finish protects the artwork, making this notebook ideal for use on the move.

It's not the first time a computer company has adorned its hardware with artwork in an attempt to appeal to gamers. Earlier in the year Dell sold a desktop games machine - the XPS 600 Renegade - for £6000. According to Dell, the computers sold out within a week.
