Vizio in the US has unveiled its own Windows 8 delights in the shape of a 24 and 27-inch PC with a full touchscreen, along with two ultrabooks and a notebook, all of which will be landing Stateside before Christmas

Placing a heavy emphasis on touch with a shiny looking trackpad, Vizio’s All-in-One Touch PCs - which, it has to be said, reminds us very much of a Mac - features a full touch display that enables the user to navigate around the Windows 8 operating system with a swipe of the finger, along with a touchpad that replaces the mouse. Both a 24 and 27-inch screen are available, with both offering a full HD 1080p display.

Depending if you want to up the ante, customers can buy the Vizio All-in-One PCS with a NVIDIA Kepler-Class GeForce GPU graphics card, while a third-generation Intel Core processor will help power proceedings.

The PCs will be kitted out with 2.1 audio systems with subwoofer, while Vizio has also included its own SRS Premium Sound HD audio system.

The Vizio All-in-One Touch PCs will start at $998 and though Vizio says they will be available in time for the holidays, we’d expect them to go on sale shortly after the arrival of Windows 8 on 26 October.

Along with the PCS, Vizio has also unveiled two ultrabooks and a notebook. The Thin + Light Ultrabooks come in 14 and 15.6-inch size screen offerings, with the Vizio Notebook also featuring a 15.6-inch HD display.

While these portable devices lack the touchscreen experience, all feature a multi-gesture touchpad that can be used in the same way. For example, pinch and pull your thumb and forefinger together and you’ll zoom in and out.

The Vizio Thin + Light Ultrabooks start at $849 with the Notebook coming in at a higher $1,129. Like the All-in-One Touch PCs, Vizio says we can expect them to arrive before Christmas, although the models are unlikely to hit the UK.

Still, it's a long way from the beige boxes that were touted for the launch of Windows 95.
