Right, let's see how many 7s we can cram into this post. MSI currently offers 7 different series of laptop. The E, C, P, Wind, V, A and G series. The last one is for gaming, and has just been bolstered by the addition of the GT740 and the GT640.

Both are high-end machines, with Intel Core i7 processors, Nvidia GeForce GTS 250M 3D graphics cards, 4GB of DDR3 memory, 640GB hard disks, Blu-ray drives and Windows 7 Home Premium. The 740 comes with the addition of 5.1 surround sound, and a 17-inch display, whereas the 640 has a 15.4-inch display and just two speakers.

The GT740 weighs 3.2kg, which is relatively svelte for a 17-inch gaming laptop. The GT640, with its smaller screen, is a little lighter at 2.7kg. Both come in black and red with brushed metal texturing.

The GT740 costs £1400 and will be available in November, whereas you'll have to wait until December for the slightly smaller £1349 GT640. We count 13 7s in this post, including the one in this sentence and in the title. Not bad.
