Huawei has unveiled two new flagship smartphones, the Huawei P30 and the Huawei P30 Pro.

Here's everything that was announced and how you can rewatch the action - all 2 hours of it.

Where can I rewatch the event?

We are hosting the Huawei Paris launch event here on Pocket-lint. You can watch it at the top of this page.

Be warned, it's 2 hours long, so feel free to scan through the video to get to the bits you want.

Everything that was announced at the P30 event

In its usual bombastic style, Huawei took to the stage fronted by chairman Richard Yu to unveil the new phones and point out just how much better they were than the Samsung Galaxy S10 and the iPhone XS. It wouldn't be a smartphone launch with some competitor jibes.

Huawei P30 Pro

The biggest reveal is the Huawei P30 Pro, the new flagship phone. It's now larger at 6.47-inches, shrinking the notch to a pimple and packing in a massive 4200mAh battery. It has the same core power as the Mate 20 Pro, the Kirin 980, comes with 8GB RAM and options of 128 or 512GB storage, in a range of glittering colours.

But the real conversation is about the camera on the back. You can a 40-megapixel main camera, 20-megapixel wide-angle camera and an 8-megapixel 5x optical zoom camera, using a periscope lens. There's a fourth time of flight sensor for depth mapping which will also work with ARcore. Huawei is saying it's the best camera system on a phone ever and DxO agrees. Who are we to argue?

Huawei P30

The Huawei P30 is essentially a fusion of the P20 Pro and the Mate 20, using the camera system from the former and the core hardware of the latter. For this to therefore be the lesser phone is something of a joke as it's going to be immensely powerful and hugely potent with that camera. It even brings back the 3.5mm headphone socket.

The attraction for the P30 is a lower price and a slightly smaller 6.1-inch device, so it's more pocket friendly in both senses.

Huawei x Gentle Monster smart glasses

Huawei's "one more thing" took everyone by surprise, introducing smart eyewear. Teaming up with Gentle Monster, Huawei has packed technology into regular glasses to get them connected. There are dual personal speakers on the arms, as well as mics, with a touch sensitive trigger for your digital assistant. Huawei wasn't explicit about what they'd actually do, but it looks like the idea is to replace a headset, so you can take calls and get information without having anything in your ears.

Huawei FreeLace

Huawei is expanding its headphone offering with the €99 FreeLace headphones. The clever thing about these headphones is that they have an integrated USB Type-C connection. You simply separate the two halves, plug it into your phone where you can instantly pair it or charge the headphones and then reconnect and use like any other pair of Bluetooth headphones. They promise 18 hours of battery life and have magnets in the buds to turn them off and keep them secure around your neck when you're not using them.

Huawei Watch GT Elegant and Active

Huawei has also expanded its range of Watch GT models, adding the Active and Elegant models. The Active keeps the 46mm face of the GT, while the Elegant is smaller at 42mm. Both new watches feature a new triathlon tracking mode and there are new straps to accompany them.
