Popular headphone maker JBL has revealed its first foray into gaming headsets here at CES 2020 with the new range of Quantum audio gear designed to deliver accurate surround audio for gamers. The range caters for every type of gamer, from casual players through to professional gamers.

All of the headsets can be used with multiple platforms; PC, Mac, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, mobile and VR.

The Quantum 300, Quantum 400, Quantum 600 and Quantum 800 feature specially-designed surround sound technology which works alongside JBL’s own  QuantumEngine PC software so gamers can fine-tune their audio. These headsets also have DTS Headphone 2.0 tech as well.

The flagship JBL Quantum One takes things to the next level with JBL-developed  QuantumSphere 360 degree sound tech. It uses head tracking so that semi-pro and pro gamers can hear accurate movement around them.

There are also entry-level Quantum 100 and Quantum 200 models, too. All the headsets have memory-foam earcups, with premium models also introducing leather, too. The JBL Quantum headsets will be priced from £30 - £230.

As you’d expect, all the headsets feature echo-cancelling mics to reduce background noise. The mics can be flipped up or removed depending on the model.

There’s also a £150 Quantum Duo speaker which ups the ante for gamers who prefer not to use a headset; it uses JBL’s surround sound tech in cahoots with Dolby Digital. The speaker is compatible with Windows, Mac and consoles and it also features a bunch of lighting options and effects, too.

Separately, JBL has also announced it has shipped over 100 million pairs of headphones and the company – owned by Samsung subsidiary Harman - now claims to be the fastest-growing headphone marker in the world. Futuresource Consulting now rates JBL as the third-biggest headphone brand.
