Titanfall has been one of the most eagerly anticipated titles for the Xbox One, launching on 11 March in the US and 14 March in Europe. To commemorate the launch, Respawn Entertainment and EA teamed up with Microsoft to produce a special limited edition Xbox One controller and we managed to get our hands on one.

The Titanfall controller is covered in custom artwork, designed to make it feel like part of the game. It's otherwise a standard controller, but like other special editions, we really like the effect. It's distinctive, standing out from the standard black Xbox One controller.

"In a collaborative effort with the Xbox design team and the Respawn art department our goal was to create a controller that feels as if it is a piece of military spec hardware transported from the universe of Titanfall and into players hands," said Joel Emslie, lead artist at Respawn Entertainment.

The box artwork is pretty cool too, if you like to collect such things, and it was nice to find it came with a set of AA batteries, so you'll be able to link it up and get playing straight away. Otherwise the Xbox One Titanfall controller feels and plays just like the regular wireless controller, but it's definitely much cooler.

The limited edition Xbox One Titanfall controller is available from Game (in the UK) for £54.99, the standard controller is £37.99 from the same store. Game is also be selling a Titanfall bundle of an Xbox One with download of the game for £399.

We thought you'd like to see a little more of it, we think it's the hottest controller out there.
