Alongside the Xbox One's exclusive Killer Instinct title there was a little (or more big) something extra: Mad Catz has produced a special-edition Killer Instinct Arcade FightStick.

But you won't be able to buy this E3-only limited edition, which is a modified version of the existing Xbox 360 Mad Catz FightStick and produced for the show. Still, we think this cool Xbox One mod looks about as retro as the original 90s game's release date and we were immediately drawn to its arcade cool.

We played Killer Instinct on the Xbox One using the arcade controller at the Microsoft showcase in Los Angeles, California. Its desk-like size certainly won't suit everyone, but this classic in style joystick and giant button combo can't be accused of being boring. A bright red side surrounds the glossy-topped wrist-rest panel which encompasses four large coloured buttons next to an additional four black ones.

It's a hefty, stylised bit of kit that's a nod to gaming classics and we had fun using it - plus there's always some extra charm in using something that money can't buy.
