Deathloop review: A mesmerising wrinkle in time

In Deathloop you play as Colt, stuck on the island of Blackreef, living the same day over and over again. (image credit: Bethesda)
You can only escape by assassinating a series of Visionaries -- i.e. the nasty characters -- but doing so is way harder than it sounds. (image credit: Bethesda)
You'll have to figure out how to arrange things so that you can top them all off in one run, and that's the heart of the matter. (image credit: Bethesda)
At any moment a rival player could drop into your session to play as Julianna - another assassin who can derail your plans. This works amazingly. (image credit: Bethesda)
Whether you're Colt or Julianna, you'll have a wide range of powers and zany weapons to call on, each changing how you play. (image credit: Bethesda)
The island is gorgeous, too, with amazing visual design that screams 60s funk and is rewarding to explore. (image credit: Bethesda)
Despite some performance issues on PS5 (it's a bit choppy in some fidelity modes), Deathloop is a superb slice of fun that we highly recommend checking out. (image credit: Bethesda)
