(Pocket-lint) - With every console having a quiz game is was only a matter of time before the Wii got one of its own, but is Smarty Pants from EA the answer? We get quizzing to find out.

As with all party games the more players the merrier, but rather than ship with four dedicated controllers to get the party started EA rely on you having multiple Wii Remotes. It's not the end of the world, but something that will cost you almost as much as the console so bear it in mind.

If you are lucky enough to have plenty of Wii Remotes lying around then it's game on. That's not to say you can't get anything out of it if you're on you own, but as with most quizzes the real fun is showing others how much of a smarty pants you are over them.

Multiplayer-wise there are two game modes: multi and family. Multi allows you to complete again four other players while family let's you help each other through the questions in a co-op mode.

Overall gameplay is all about answering question after question rather than mini challenges or any real variation on the theme as in Buzz on the PS2 or Scene It on the Xbox 360 and the motion sensor on the Wii Remote is required but only to point at the right answer.

If you think you know it all and own a Wii this is a good way to prove it.

The questions are average and if you're well read you should be able to score fairly well with only the odd screw ball here and there.

Is the experience as good as the quiz games on the other consoles? The short answer is No.

But that does not make this bad, just not fantastic.
