No More Heroes 3 review: An untimely blast from the past

No More Heroes 3 comes years after the last main entry in the series, but picks up where it left off. (image credit: Grasshopper Manufacture)
This time you'll be fighting aliens, not rival assassins, but other than that it's a familiar pulp story. (image credit: Grasshopper Manufacture)
The beam katana returns to make for punchy combat, when you actually manage to get through to it. (image credit: Grasshopper Manufacture)
The story is chaotic once it gets going, written almost deliberately badly and full of odd moments and cut-scenes that really drag. (image credit: Grasshopper Manufacture)
The design of the world is fairly fun in places, but dragged down by low-resolution textures and an empty world. (image credit: Grasshopper Manufacture)
That makes No More Heroes 3 hard to recommend, despite its heritage - this is one for the more dedicated fans. (image credit: Grasshopper Manufacture)
