Microsoft has announced that the new Xbox Experience will launch on 19th November.

Featuring a revamped Dashboard, Microsoft claims that the new Experience will put more entertainment at users fingertips than "any other device connected to the TV".

Talking at the Tokyo Game Show 2008 John Schappert, corporate vice president of Interactive Entertainment LIVE, said: "Our industry is defining the future of entertainment. When the New Xbox Experience launches in just six weeks, we will be inviting the whole world to play.

"We will also have the games that everyone will want, including all-new social experiences like 'Lips,' 'Scene It? Box Office Smash,' and 'You're In the Movies,' all launching this Christmas all exclusively on Xbox 360."

So what can you expect from the new Experience? Well firstly you'll be able to store you own personal pictures and music alongside your favourite games and movies, and download more with Xbox's on-demand entertainment.

You'll also be able to hold an Xbox LIVE Party with up to seven friends, allowing you to play games, voice chat and share photos, no matter where in the world you are. Could certainly save some money.

At such a party and across the whole of Xbox LIVE, you'll now be able to be a customisable, animated avatar, similar to a Mii on Nintendo's Wii, we understand.

Probably the most exciting addition to the new experience is the Community Games Channel, which will hold thousands of games made by students, hobbyists and just your everyday people for you to try out.

Microsoft also took the oppourtunity to brag about its line-up in the run up to Christmas, including its Singstar-esque game called Lips, quiz game Scene It? Box Office Smash and of course all the games on Xbox Live Arcade.
