Microsoft has announced the first wave of original Xbox games that will be backwards compatible with the Xbox One and Xbox One S. There are 13 games at launch and the launch date is tomorrow, 25 October.
Not only will some of your early favourites be available to play on the latest-generation consoles, but because of the improved hardware, the games will get performance boosts too. Games will be output to your TV in full HD 1080p, have more consistent framerates and have faster loading times.
Here are all the original Xbox games you will be able to play:
- BloodRayne 2
- Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge
- Dead to Rights
- Fuzion Frenzy
- Grabbed by the Ghoulies
- The King of Fighters Neowave
- Ninja Gaiden Black
- Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
- Red Faction II
- Sid Meier's Pirates!
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
If you have the games on disc, you will be able to insert them into the disc drive as normal and play them. Alternatively, they will be available to buy from the Xbox Store, priced between $9.99 and $14.99.
