Microsoft has said it's looking into more competitive pricing for digital Xbox One games.

Microsoft mouthpiece Larry "Major Nelson" Hyrb made comments on a Reddit thread discussing digital downloads. Users wanted to know plans for pre-order or pre-load digital titles, the company's Games with Gold programme for Xbox One and buying digital game codes in real world shops.

Hryb wrote: "We are way aware of this and many of the concerns of the community. We have some great stuff planned for Xbox One this year (and beyond.) As soon as we can share some of the goodness... we will :)".

But he then, less cryptically, replied to a question about more competitive digital game pricing with: "[that is] indeed on the agenda".

Following a price hike recently that saw digital games costing more than physical copies this has been a hot topic. Hopefully soon we'll see the savings made on digital game distribution passed on to the gamers.
