Microsoft has made a surprise move and quietly announced a new Xbox 360 design at the opening of E3 2013 in Los Angeles.

There's little detail on the new console so far, but it appears to offer a design that's a bit more simplistic - like the Xbox One - but is said to be quieter than the current model of Xbox 360.

Microsoft has said that this version of the Xbox 360 will be available from today, in the UK, US, Ireland, Canada and Australia.

The new Xbox 360 UK price will start from £149.99 for the 4GB console, or £199.99 for the 250GB console.

Microsoft had previously confirmed that it would continue to support the Xbox 360, with some of the recent Xbox One announcements also quietly saying that they would be coming to the 360, including Battlefield 4, FIFA 14, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and plenty more.

There will also be Xbox 360 exclusives, including a new console title, World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has also announced a heap of new games for the Xbox One, as well as annoucing the price for the new console, at £429.
