Fans of the eagerly awaited Halo 4 will be able to pick up a copy from more than 10,000 retail stores around the world when the game goes on sale at 12.01am on Tuesday, 6 November.

Stores in more than 40 countries will open their doors early, when customers will be able to pick up a copy of Halo 4, five years after the last installment of the gaming franchise went on sale.

To mark the occasion, a series of events will take place in major cities including Seattle, Berlin, Toronto, Hong Kong, Sydney, Dubai, Paris and in Singapore.

London will play host to a “spectacular stunt” on the River Thames between Greenwich Peninsula and Tower Bridge. Details have been kept secret, but curious fans are being invited to head to Butlers Wharf, next to the Design Museum for 7.30pm on Monday, 5 November.

After the event a limited number of fans (to be selected on a first come, first served basis, so don’t be late) will be ushered on to a bus and taken to the GAME store in Westfield, Stratford City.

There, gamers will be able to have a play of the game before it goes on general release, meet the protagonist Master Chief and indulge in Halo-themed Mountain Dew and Pizza Hut pizza.

Pocket-lint has been fortunate enough to get hold of a copy early. You can read our full review of Halo 4 by clicking here. It rocks!

Halo 4 will go on sale for £49.99, though a Limited Edition version, complete with extended 90-minute live action digital series, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, can be picked up for £69.99.
