Microsoft is set to announce a new chapter in its Halo franchise at its E3 press conference in a few hours time; Halo 4.

That’s right, Master Chief fans, the company has just let slip on its website that it will be making a third direct sequel: “The news millions of Halo fans have waited for: Halo 4 is on the way. But that’s not all…” reads a teaser that appeared briefly on the site before disappearing again.

Microsoft has also remastered the original Halo for the Xbox 360. It is expected to have new high definition graphics and a better link into Xbox Live.

And the Halos aren't the only games the company is expected to announced on Monday. Other tidbits grabbed from the page include details of the new Kinect Star Wars game, Dance Central 2, Kinect Sports Season 2, and the Kinect tie-in with Big Bird, Elmo and the team; Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster.

Grandstand titles Gears of War 3 and Modern Warfare 3 are highlighted, as is another new Kinect game Ryse.

Don't forget, Pocket-lint is live at the Microsoft E3 press conference later today, so we'll be bringing you all the latest news as it happens.
