Sony has announced a new feature called PSP Plus, that will see rumble support being added to the company's handheld via the DualShock 3 controller - albeit in a rather roundabout way.
Firstly, you'll need to have a PS3 and a copy of PS3 game Resistance 2 - or at least know someone who has - so that's a bit of a pain to start with.
Still, when you've got all that, you'll be able to access the PSP Plus function by connecting your PSP to the PS3 via USB and switching it on through Resistance 2.
Doing this will add DualShock 3 control support to the handheld allowing you to play PSP games on your TV with your wireless PS3 controller, which is certainly easier than the fiddly PSP controls.
However, this will only work with PSP games on a TV - there's still no way to use your DualShock controller direct to your PSP as yet.
Resistance: Retribution will be the first PSP game to support the feature, and it will allow players to alter their controls to take full advantage of the PS3's extra inputs.
Resistance 2 will be available for PS3 in November, while Resistance: Retribution will be released some time in spring 2009.
