Sony has confirmed that Gran Turismo 6, the much-awaited latest chapter of the realistic driving simulator franchise, will be the first to feature micro transactions.

In-game credits for the PS3 exclusive title will be available to buy through the PS Store or as cards in high street retailers. Although the prices are yet to be announced, you will be able to buy the credits in denominations of 500,000, 1 million, 2.5 million or 7 million.

These credits can be used to buy cars in the game and the adding of micro transactions allows you to build up your collection more quickly. You will still be able to accumulate in-game credits through races and play.

The game is now also available to pre-order on the PS Store in either Standard or Special Editions. The Special Edition comes with the game, 20 extra cars (the Torque, Performance, Adrenaline and Velocity packs), custom PSN avatars, paint chips, race suits and race helmets.
