The gameplay trailer of Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag has been released by Ubisoft and, to be honest, we can't tell which format it's taken from.

Most likely grabbed from the PC development build, rather than the PS4 or Xbox 720, the one thing we suspect from what we can see in the trailer is that the versions for current-generation consoles won't look too different.

In fact, most of the actual stuff that's technically taken from in-game action in the clip looks very similar to the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of former games. It will be interesting to see if the next-gen consoles will get a significant step up in graphical flair therefore - beyond an extra lighting effect or better water ripples.

That said, it really doesn't matter as the one thing we have taken from the Assassin's Creed 4 gameplay teaser is that, like the rest in the franchise before it, this will be a must-have game, regardless of the format.

We simply cannot wait.

Hopefully, we'll see more, and a playable version, at E3 in Los Angeles in June. Pocket-lint will be there to bring you the news as it happens.
