Sony has recently announced a whole host of information on its official blog of the much-anticipated third instalment of the Kill Zone series, which you'll be able to play in 3D.

Kill Zone 3 will not only have the bonus of stereoscopic 3D - being one of the first games developed with 3D at its heart -  but it will also be getting many new features that its predecessor lacked, these include: "more enemy types, massive environments and a broader vision of the planet Helghan and its many terrains", according to James Callagher, content producer, SCEE.

The FPS, developed by Guerrilla Games, also gets a bit of a platform feel thanks to the introduction of a jetpack "allowing you to soar high into the air and use the forward thrust twice before having to land, and opens up the possibilities for platforming and aerial combat", which given the game's 3D credentials could make for some absorbing gameplay.

In terms of the multiplayer the developers promise "true innovation" in what they were describing as the "other half of the game".

Expect more info to come out at next months E3 event and we'll be sure to keep you informed as and when we get more details.
